World Bank hopes land reform in Ukraine to be approved this autumn

The World Bank hopes that the land reform in Ukraine will be approved this autumn, World Bank Country Director for Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine Satu Kahkonen has said.

She said at the Ukrainian Financial Forum in Odesa that the purchase and sale of land should have been permitted long time ago. She said that she was pleased to hear in speeches of the prime minister and president that reforms in agriculture remain on the agenda. The steps will be made this autumn. According to the estimates of the bank, this could trigger the development of the country, Kahkonen said.
