Ukrzaliznytsia could see over UAH 11 bln of loss from passenger transportation in 2017
Public joint-stock company Ukrzaliznytsia could see over UAH 11 billion of loss from passenger transportation by rail in 2017.
An Interfax-Ukraine correspondent has reported that Ukrzaliznytsia Chief Financial Officer Andriy Riazantsev said this at the presentation of the company's development strategy in Kyiv on Tuesday.
"It is likely that this year we would pass the UAH 11 billion threshold of loss from passenger transportation. These are large sums that were never covered over the years," he said.
Riazantsev also said that in the past years the state does not compensate for loss from passenger transportation, in particular, for transportation of citizens with benefits.
