Gas transit via Ukrainian GTS exceeds 300 mcm on August 17
Transit of natural gas via the Ukrainian gas transport system (GTS) on August 17, 2017 totaled 304.2 million cubic meters (mcm), which a record-breaking figure since January 2017, according to operation data of public joint-stock company Ukrtransgaz.
The 300 mcm limit was exceeded this year only during five days at the end of January.
On August 1 through August 19, 2017 gas transit via the Ukrainian GTS totaled 5.351 billion cubic meters (bcm) or 281.6 mcm a day. For example, in August 2016, average daily figure was 224.2 mcm, August 2015 – 217.3 mcm and August 2014 – 146.4 mcm.
Ukrtransgaz, a wholly owned subsidiary of Naftogaz Ukrainy, operates the country's gas pipelines and 12 underground gas storage facilities.
