Information about Ukrainian company owners made available to public
Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman has announced the opening of a database on beneficiaries of companies, the premier's press service said on Facebook.
"So, thanks to the joint work of the State Agency for Electronic Government and the Ministry of Justice, information about the beneficiaries of all Ukrainian companies is published on the Unified State Portal of Open Data," the message says.
It is also reported that Ukraine has become the first country in the world to join the Global Register of Beneficiary Owners - the Transparency International initiative to promote transparency and prevent corruption.
According to Groysman, the disclosure of data will allow the public to freely use and analyze it for public control.
