No need to wait for appointment of new SPF head to privatize SOEs - PM
A candidate for the post of the head of the State Property Fund (SPF) of Ukraine will be selected after holding consultation with the parliamentary coalition, but the country should not wait for his or her appointment to conduct privatization in Ukraine, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has said.
"The head of the State Property Fund: consultations with coalition will be held and he will be selected. We should not wait for the new head. We have acting head – first deputy. Let him work to make it effectively," the prime minister said in an interview with Channel 5 TV late on Monday.
Groysman said that the government has drawn up a bill which will allow privatizing state-owned enterprises (SOEs) in a transparent and competitive way.
"We will ask parliament to pass it in September," he said.
The prime minister said that at present the Ukrainian president is studying the document.
