Groysman stresses importance of discussing land reform
Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman has said that land reform takes time to discuss, and stands for the adoption of a targeted program for the development of Ukrainian farming.
"This reform is very sensitive. And it takes more time to discuss with people and explain people what will happen," he said in an interview with Channel 5 on Monday evening.
He said that a broad dialogue should be held on this issue.
The prime minister opposes selling land to foreigners and large holdings.
At the same time Groysman said that he supports the development of Ukrainian farming and the creation of an appropriate target program.
"I will propose in the next budget to provide UAH 1 billion of targeted support for the implementation of this program," he said.
"If they want to buy this land, then a Ukrainian citizen has the right to buy up to 200 hectares of land," the premier said.
