Lukashenko offers help in organizing humanitarian convoys to Donbas
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has offered to ship humanitarian assistance to residents of Donetsk and Luhansk regions via Ukraine without intermediaries.
"We talked a lot about cooperation in the interests of Luhansk and Donetsk regions … we will ship humanitarian assistance to these regions. We would like to work without intermediaries and using the shortest route … through Ukrainian territory. I asked [Ukrainian President Petro] Poroshenko if we could do this together if our humanitarian convoys and routes match," Lukashenko said at a joint press conference in Kyiv on Friday.
Lukashenko said the proposal was accepted warmly.
"We are able ourselves to help our own people who are in trouble," the Belarusian president said.
