Ukrtransgaz explains fall in gas transit by scheduled Soyuz pipeline repair works

Public joint-stock company Ukrtransgaz has explained the fall in gas transit seen since July 11 by the scheduled repair works at the Soyuz gas pipeline.

"From July 11 through July 13 the operator of the Ukrainian gas transport system carried out the sixth scheduled repair complex on the pipelines used for gas transit. The repair works include repair of the Soyuz gas pipeline and connection of a lock between the Zadniprovska and Kremenchuk compressor stations," the press service of Ukrtransgaz reported.

The company said that the disconnection of the section of the Soyuz gas pipeline was approved and Russian gas transit was reduced across Ukraine.

The repair works were earlier approved by Ukrtransgaz, Russia's Gazprom and European operators.
