Implementation of Naftogaz restructuring plan practically stopped
The board chairman of Naftogaz Ukrainy, Andriy Kobolev, has notes a sharp slowdown, almost to a halt, of the restructuring plan and the separation of the company's activity on natural gas transportation (unbundling) agreed with the donors.
"Unfortunately, now we can state that progress in implementing this plan is very low, in fact the work was stopped," he said at a round table entitled "The key role of Ukraine in the energy security of Europe" at the Verkhovna Rada.
Kobolev stressed the unbundling and restructuring of Naftogaz and their timely implementation are critically important tasks from the point of view of demonstrating the efficiency and reliability of gas transit through Ukraine, especially taking into account the routes proposed by Russia.
According to him, this is a test for whether any European operator is ready to come to Ukraine and become a partner in the management of the gas transportation system, which will be leased or passed to concession.
