Ecology ministry proposes to govt to authorize Ukrenergo to design connection of 1.2 GWsolar power plants in Chornobyl zone
Ukraine's Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry has proposed to Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers to authorize national energy company Ukrenergo to design connection projects for solar power plants with a capacity of up to 1.2 GW located in the Chornobyl zone.
The issue was discussed at a government meeting on Tuesday.
"Ukrenergo is to ensure the designing of the project to build infrastructure to collect power generated by solar power plants (the feasibility study stage), which will be located in the exclusion zone… foreseeing measures to minimize the influence of sharply variable modes of operation of solar power plants on the Ukrainian power grid operation," the ministry said in a draft decision.
