PrivatBank board chairman Oleksandr Shlapak, who has announced his intention to resign, has states he is not ready to head the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).
"Thank you, I'm not ready to head the NBU today and I do not want to do this," he said during a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine.
As reported, Shlapak in late June announced his intention to terminate his anti-crisis term in the bank. He has submitted the relevant statement to the bank supervisory board, it could be considered at the next meeting of the bank's supervisory council at the end of July.
Shlapak continues to manage the bank.
