Court confiscates property of Odesa oil refinery, repeated privatization expected
The district court of Odesa has decided to apply special confiscation to the property of Odesa Oil Refinery belonged to VETEK Group of Serhiy Kurchenko, Ukrainian Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko has written on his Facebook page.
"As part of the signing of the plea deal the district court of Odesa ruled special confiscation for the property of Odesa Oil Refinery as it was used for criminal purposes by the Kurchenko's criminal group. The plant has been transferred to ownership of the state in the person of the Cabinet of Ministers," he wrote.
"I hope the privatization auction will be quick and transparent," he said.
He thanked the team of Odesa region prosecutor Oleh Zhuchenko and judges of Suvorovsky district court.
Odesa Oil Refinery is currently idle.
