Visa-free regime with EU has not yet caused boom of trips by air
The Ukrainian aviation market should study new demand on transportation after the introduction of visa free regime between Ukraine and the European Union (EU) in the near future, Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) President Yuriy Miroshnykov told Interfax-Ukraine during the launch of the Kyiv-Budapest flights on Thursday.
"The aviation market should track the trends. They are unpredictable. One cannot say how it will happen. We should monitor and work in the market economy and respond to demand by supply. Now new demand is appearing. We do not know what it is. We have not seen a large boom," he said.
He said that for Ukrainian citizens now there is an opportunity to use free visa regime to expand geography of their flights.
"The improvement of welfare is required, as unfortunately, despite lifting the visa barrier, there are large economic barriers," he said.
