Competition agency closes case related to Kyivstar setting high prices of calls to fixed communications subscribers, no fine imposed

Ukraine's Antimonopoly Committee ruled that prices on outgoing calls to fixed communications subscribers set by Kyivstar mobile communications operator at UAH 1.50 per minute, UAH 1.60 per minute and UAH 1.75 per minute had not cause large damage to particular persons or society and closed the case without imposing a fine.

"Steps of Kyivstar in the form of setting the price of outgoing calls to fixed communications subscribers in Ukraine at UAH 1.50 per minute, UAH 1.60 per minute and UAH 1.75 per minute did not cause large damage to particular persons or society over the period when they were set, as there was an opportunity to order "30 minutes for fixed communications calls," "10 minutes for fixed communications calls" and "5 minutes for fixed communications calls" by subscribers," the committee said.

The cost of a minute in these three packages is UAH 0.33 per minute, UAH 0.50 per minute and UAH 0.60 per minute, respectively.
