Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada sets tariffs for heat generated using biofuel at the level of 90% of the tariffs for heat generated burning gas.
A total of 238 lawmakers backed bill No. 4334 amending the law on heat supplies in part of stimulating heat generation from alternative sources on Tuesday.
The document also transfers powers to issue licenses, form tariffs for companies generating heat from alternative sources from the National Commission for Energy, Housing and Utilities Services Regulation (NCER) to local authorities.
As reported, earlier the initiative to transfer these powers from the commission to local authorities was not supported in parliament.
