Tonis TV Channel has announced a new stage of development, now 9.5% of the channel is owned by the people's deputy of Ukraine of the previous convocations, former head of Kyiv City State Administration Volodymyr Makeyenko.
"The channel will operate exclusively in the Ukrainian legal field, in accordance with the laws and the Constitution of Ukraine. This will be a 100% pro-Ukrainian channel. I own 9.5% of the shares, the rest is the property of the channel," Makeyenko said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine.
He stressed such a step was his personal decision.
"You will see this in the work of the channel. I did not have any meetings or councils from the presidential administration, the Cabinet of Ministers because I am a self-sufficient person," the ex-deputy said.
He also noted funds for the purchase of the channel's shares were transferred from his account in the state bank. The procedure was completely transparent, he added.
