Ukraine loses last representative in Bloomberg 500 Billionaires Index
The fortune of the owner of SCM Group Rinat Akhmetov from February 20, 2017 reduced by almost $1 billion, from $4.44 billion to $3.5 billion, according to Bloomberg assessments.
This resulted in the fact that Ukraine has lost its only representative in the Bloomberg 500 Billionaires Index. Akhmetov as of March 6, 2017 is 528th richest man on the index.
Bloomberg recorded the largest fortune of the SCM owner early 2013 - $22.4 billion. Then the Ukrainian businessman was the richest of all billionaires on the post-Soviet territory.
As of early 2014, the figure fell to $12.8 billion, being unchanged until September 2014. Then the gradual fall of Akhmetov's fortune was recorded. At the end of 2015 and in May-June 2016 Bloomberg assessed his fortune lower than $4 billion. The lowest figure was $3.83-3.84 billion.
According to the Index as of March 6, 2017, the world's wealthiest person is the founder of Microsoft Bill Gates with $85.6 billion followed by Warren Buffett with $78.9 billion and the founder of Amazon.com Jeff Bezos with $73.5 billion.
