Ukrzaliznytsia posts 26% rise in income in Jan 2017 - Balczun

PJSC Ukrzaliznytsia, according to live data, in January 2017 saw UAH 6.3 billion in revenues, which is 26% more than in January 2016.

"As a result, Ukrzaliznytsia's activities in January this year were profitable. In January it transported 28.3 million tonnes of cargo, which is higher than in January last year by 25%. Transit of goods increased by 23%," company CEO Wojciech Balczun wrote on his Facebook page.

According to him, 14.4 million passengers used the services of railways, which is 6% more than in January 2016.

"Ukrzaliznytsia, according to the law, timely pays taxes and makes obligatory payments to the budget and state trust funds. In January 2017 it paid UAH 904.1 million," he said.
