Shuster's TV channel ceases broadcasts from March 1
The managing partner and second largest stakeholder in Savik Shuster's 32.TV channel Pavlo Yelizarov has again announced the end of transmission via satellite – now from March 1, 2017 – due to the lack of paying subscribers.
"Tomorrow is the last day of broadcasting of our channel via satellite. Thank you for your support, but we don't have enough subscribers and time has caught up with us," he wrote on his Facebook page on Monday evening.
According to Yelizarov, society and business for now do not feel the need for independent media and are ready to consume "prepared programming of oligarchic [TV] channels."
As earlier reported, Shuster's TV channel began broadcasting in September 2015. Shuster in December 2016 announced his intention to cease satellite broadcasts from January 1, 2017 if he failed to attract investors.
"We will have to abandon this beloved business, because there will be no more money," the TV channel's press release said.
According to the information posted on the site, Canadian citizen Savik Shuster owns 50% of the limited liability company TV and Radio Company World Information Service. Pavlo Yelizarov owns 40%, and Olena Demchuk - 1%, while 9% belong to World Information Service, Ltd.
