Ukraine seeks to cut annual anthracite consumption from 9 to 6 mln tonnes
Next heating season Ukraine would reduce annual anthracite consumption from 9 million tonnes to 6 million tonnes, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has said.
"In March we are finishing the modernization of one unit at Trypilska [thermal power] plant. It will switch from anthracite coal to gas coal produced on the Ukraine controlled territory. What does it mean? It means that next heating season we would be able to save around 2.5-3 million tonnes… This means only one thing that it was 9 million tonnes consumed and it will be 6 million tonnes consumed," the prime minister said visiting Agro Animal Show 2017 in Kyiv on Friday.
He said that next year coal consumption would be reduced by 2.5-4 million tonnes.
