IMF requirement could accelerate privatization of Ukrspyrt
A requirement of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to adopt the law on deregulation of the spirit sector could accelerate the privatization of state-run enterprise Ukrspyrt, Ukrainian Agricultural Policy and Food Minister Taras Kytoviy has said.
"There is a requirement of the IMF that the law on the privatization and deregulation of the sector was voted in the package of bills to be drawn up under the program of cooperation with the IMF. This infuses me with hope that the bill will be put on the agenda of the Verkhovna Rada quickly," the press service of the ministry reported, citing Kutoviy as saying.
Kutoviy said that it was planned to put the bill on the agenda several times, and every time the bill did not have more than 200 supporting votes. It is hard to predict when Ukrspyrt will be privatized.
The minister is confident that the existing bill would help to conduct the effective privatization.
