Avian influenza cases recorded in two regions of Ukraine
The State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Rights Protection has reported that avian influenza cases in private households were recorded in Chernivtsi and Odesa regions.
The main department of the authority said that over 1,000 hens and gooses in private households died. The avian influenza virus was proven.
When monitoring private households in Chortoryia settlement of Chernivtsi region due to death of wild swans, on January 3 hens also died. After testing samples highly pathogenic avian influenza was proven.
Measures are being taken to localize the disease on the site of the outbreak and prevent the spread of avian influenza virus.
