Rada increases excise duties for beer by 12%, fortified alcohol by 20%, cigarettes by 40%
Ukraine's Verkhova Rada has passed bill No. 5132 amending the Tax Code to provide for the balance of budget revenue in 2017.
The document envisages the increase of the excise duty for beer by 12%, to UAH 2.78 per liter, liquor and vodka – by 20%, to UAH 126.96 per liter of 100% ABV.
The excise duty for cigarettes at the specific rate would grow by 40%, to UAH 445.56 per 1,000 cigarettes, while the ad valorem rate was left unchanged (12%).
The excise duty for dry wine is kept unchanged, being UAH 0.01 per liter, the rate for fortified wine and vermouths is increased by 12%, to UAH 8.02 per liter and sparkling wine – by 12%, to UAH 11.65 per liter.
