Overdrafts in PrivatBank to be restored on Dec 21 – NBU official
Overdrafts of companies in PrivatBank validated as of December 19 will be restored on December 21, Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Kateryna Rozhkova has said.
"If any company had a negative balance on the account, it could happen that during these two days payments sent to the accounts of companies could be automatically written off to pay the overdraft. Tomorrow the limit for overdraft will be restored and it could be used," she said at a briefing at the NBU on Tuesday.
Head of the information department at the NBU Natalia Bondarenko said that the central bank would stick to its promises and give press conferences every day to inform about the situation with PrivatBank.
Rozhkova said that due to restrictions imposed on companies on December 19 and December 20, around 500,000 billing documents have been accumulated. The priority of payments will be observed: first taxes will be paid, then salaries and then all usual payments of companies.
