NBU issues UAH 15 bln refinancing to PrivatBank until year end
The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has issued a UAH 15 billion refinancing loan to insolvent PrivatBank at 16% per annum until December 30, 2016.
According to the report, the loan is issued to support liquidity and ensure uninterrupted customer service, the operation of branches and ATMs, timely payments.
As reported, the Cabinet of Ministers made the decision to transfer 100% of PrivatBank to the state on December 18, 2016.
According to the Ministry of Finance and the National Bank of Ukraine, the deficit of the bank capital is UAH 148 billion.
According to Finance Minister Oleksandr Danyliuk, the deficit of the bank capital will be liquidated in several stages: at the first stage the ministry will issue bonds worth UAH 43 billion, the maximum amount of recapitalization will be UAH 148 billion, the minimum amount UAH 116.8 billion. The exact amount of resource requirements of the financial institution will be known after auditing.
