Energy regulator seeks to cut electricity wholesale market price by 10% from Jan 1
The National Commission for State Regulation of Energy, Housing and Utilities Services (NCER) seeks to cut the wholesale market price of electricity by 10% or UAH 149.06 from January 1, 2016, from UAH 1,490.63 per MW to 1,341.57 per MW (VAT not included).
This is outlined in the materials of the regulator drawn up for a meeting to be held on December 20, 2016.
From April 1, 2017 it is planned to cut the price by 5.8% or UAH 77.71 per MW, to UAH 1,263.76 per MW and retain it until the end of 2017.
Thus, the commission seeks to cut the price by 15.2% (December 2016 on December 2017).
The source for cutting the price is stable generation, a strict approach of the commission to license holders and reduction of subsidies.
