The House of Commons of Canada has supported the ratification of a free trade area (FTA) agreement with Ukraine, according to the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Ukraine's Trade Representative Natalia Mykolska.
"The lower house of the parliament of Canada unanimously supported the ratification of the FTA agreement between Ukraine and Canada," she wrote on her Facebook page.
Mykolska noted now this legislative initiative must now be ratified by the upper house of the parliament of Canada – the Senate.
"We are working very closely with the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the issue of ratification," the official said.
