Ukraine, Russia do not disagree on gas price for Q4 - Russian energy minister
Russia and Ukraine do not disagree on the price for Russian gas for the fourth quarter of 2016, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak told journalists.
"This time we don't have any disagreements on the price, because both the Ukrainian side and the Russian side confirm that the price for gas, which is set this quarter, including in December, according to the contract formula, is absolutely competitive and currently lower than prices set on spot markets," Novak said.
"And in this sense the Ukrainian side is interested in acquiring gas from Russia in a commercial sense," Novak added.
The chief commercial officer of Naftogaz, Yuriy Vitrenko said earlier that the gas price under the Ukrainian oil and gas company's contract with Russian gas giant Gazprom is currently $178-$183 per 1,000 cubic meters, but starting in the first quarter of 2017 it will be $200-$210.
