PM declares tender to sell Odesa Port-Side Plant failure
The unsuccessful repeated tender to sell 99.567% of shares in public joint-stock company Odesa Port-Side Plant has showed the inability of Ukraine's State Property Fund (SPF) and its current managers to effectively conduct privatization, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman.
"The recent tender to privatize Odesa Port-Side Plant has showed that the institution [SPF] is absolutely unable to effectively conduct privatization and unable to manage state-owned property," he said at a government meeting in Kyiv on Wednesday.
"I would dismiss everyone who manages Ukraine's State Property Fund. If these were my powers, everyone would have been fired," Groysman said.
SPF has delayed the announcement of the results of accepting the bids in the tender. The term to submit the bids expired on December 6. According to Deputy Board Chairman of Odesa Port-Side Plant Mykola Schurikov, there are no bids.
