Use of Ukrainian underground storage facilities without customs clearance is impossible – energy customs office
The use of Ukrainian underground storage facilities to store gas without its customs clearance is impossible now, Head of Energy Customs Office of the State Fiscal Service Ihor Pikovsky told reporters in Kyiv on Tuesday.
"We have no customs warehouse at any gas storage facilities… the prime minister signed an agreement in Paris, but it is impossible to implement it in practice now," he said.
Pikovsky said that one of the orders of the Finance Ministry of Ukraine can be amended to change the situation, although there were no responses from the ministry to the requests of the customs office.
As reported, Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman and Minister of Economy and Finance of France Michel Sapin on October 28 took part in signing an agreement between Engie and PJSC Ukrtransgaz. Engie gained the possibility to store gas in Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities.
