Russia, EC agree on trilateral meeting with Ukraine on gas in Brussels in coming days
Russia and the European Commission have agreed to a trilateral meeting with Ukraine on gas, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said following negotiations with European Commission Vice President Maros Sefcovic on Friday in Moscow.
He said that the key issue of the meeting with Sefcovic was gas transit to Europe through Ukraine. Risks regarding the safe passage of winter on the part of Ukraine and safe transit remain, the Russian minister said.
"The key issue at our meeting was the safe provision of Russian gas to Europe and Ukraine getting safely through the winter period," Novak said.
Sefcovic said the trilateral talks would take place in the coming days in Brussels.
