Trade turnover between Ukraine and EU 5% up since year start
The European Union is leading among Ukraine's trading partners and due to the implementation of the free trade area agreement (FTA) trade turnover between the countries in the ten months of 2016 grew by 5%, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has said.
"We noted significant progress in the implementation of the FTA agreement. I can emphasize that for the first ten months of the FTA trade turnover between Ukraine and the European Union grew by 5%, while the volume of our trade with the EU confidently ranked first and at present they reach 41%," Poroshenko told reporters after talks in Brussels.
According to the head of state, the EU leadership expressed readiness to contribute to the successful implementation of the FTA agreement and consider the rapid introduction of autonomous preferences for Ukrainian goods in the EU market.
As reported, Ukraine in the framework of the Association Agreement can without duties supply 36 items of goods within the approved volumes of tariff quotas.
