Cabinet approves list of print media to be privatized
The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a list of 244 print mass media and editorial boards to be privatized.
Spokesman for the prime minister Dmytro Stoliarchuk on his Facebook page wrote the decision was made at a cabinet meeting on November 23.
"The purpose of the reform is to deprive these mass media of state influence and make them interesting and informative. The Cabinet of Ministers at today's meeting approved a list of 244 publications, which expressed desire to participate in the first stage of the reform – these are more than half of municipal media in the country," he said.
He noted Ukrainian authorities undertook the relevant commitment to the Council of Europe in 2005.
