EU believes strategically important to maintain Ukraine's role as gas transit country – Mogherini
The European Union (EU) is committed to the position that it is strategically important to maintain Ukraine's role as a gas transit country, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini said on Monday.
"The Council stated very clearly, last time we had conclusions on energy in the Foreign Affairs Council, that for us it is strategically important to maintain the role of Ukraine as a transit country," she said at a press conference in Brussels asked about the attitude to the Nord Stream 2 project.
