Budget to earmark UAH 477 mln to Health Ministry's specialized medical institutions in 2017
Some UAH 477 million will be provided from the national budget in 2017 for Ukrainian specialized medical institutions, the Health Ministry has said on its website.
"All disputable health resorts were returned to us, including a hospital for Afghan war veterans Lisna Poliana, the health resort Khadzhibei for children with infantile cerebral paralysis and tuberculosis health resorts for children with tuberculosis," Deputy Health Minister Pavlo Kovtoniuk said.
He said that in the past several months the ministry insisted on return of budget financing to national specialized medical institutions. The ministry is obliged to reform the sphere to switch to payment of treatment, and not maintenance of the institutions.
Kovtoniuk said that the Health Ministry had an agreement with the top managers of the specialized medical institutions to draw up a reform plan for these institutions and to gradually switch to the monetization of services.
He said that next year will be a transition year and the specialized medical institutions will be able to gradually adapt to the new rules.
