State Statistics Service: Inflation in Ukraine accelerates to 2.8% in Oct
Consumer prices in Ukraine in October compared with the previous month rose by 2.8% and since the beginning of the year by 9.4%, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine has reported.
According to its data, in annual terms inflation in October jumped to 12.4% from 7.9% in September, due to a deflation of 1.3% in October last year because of adjustments in gas prices.
As reported, the government and the National Bank of Ukraine forecast slowdown in inflation to around 12% with the growth of the economy being about 1.1% in 2016.
Inflation in Ukraine in 2015 rose to 43.3% from 24.9% in 2014, while the GDP fall accelerated to 9.9% from 6.6% respectively.
