Ukraine produces 1 mln tonnes of sugar as of Nov 1
Sugar production in Ukraine as of November 1, 2016 totaled UAH 1.04 million tonnes.
According to the Ukrtsukor national association of sugar producers, almost 7.1 million tonnes of sugar beets had been processed as of November 1.
"A year ago we had 774,500 tonnes of sugar. The quality indicators also changed: sugar production effectiveness grew by 0.3%. This is evidence of improving the production system and modernizing facilities by producers," Head of the analytical department Ruslan Bulylo said.
Ukrtsukor has assessed sugar exports from Ukraine for 2015/16 agricultural year (September-August) at 113,000 tonnes, 3% up year-over-year. Sugar production in 2015/16 agri-year fell by 315, to 1.43 million tonnes.
The association anticipates that Ukrainian companies would export 250,000 tonnes of white sugar by the end of the calendar year.
