ENTSO-E secretariat to approve events on integrating Ukrainian and European power grids in Nov

Secretariat of the European Network of Transmission System Operators (ENTSO-E) will approve events to integrate the Ukrainian power grids into the European one in November, Ukrenergo Head Vsevolod Kovalchuk said at a press conference in Kyiv on Thursday.

"Late November the catalog of integration events will be approved by ENTSO-E Secretariat," he said.

He said that the document would include technological, regulatory and organization events.

Kovalchuk said that a large group of events is intended to create a competitive electricity market in Ukraine and implement the Third Energy Package of the European Union.

"The technical synchronization [of the Ukrainian and European power grids] is possible today, but the switch to the market rules must precede it," he said.
