Centrenergo to import about 280,000 tonnes of steam coal from South Africa in Oct-Dec - Nasalyk
Energy generating company PJSC Centrenergo in October-December 2016 will import 280,000 tonnes of anthracite coal from South Africa, Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Ihor Nasalyk has said.
"Centrenergo has chartered five vessels, namely 350,000 tonnes of anthracite coal, the first of which came in September with 72,000 tonnes. Another four ships, each with 72,000 tonnes, have been chartered for the nearest period: two in October and one in November and December," he said.
As reported, in late August-early September Centrenergo supplied to its plants 71,700 tonnes of coal imported from South Africa on a contract for the supply of imported steam coal with international trader Alchar Services SA (Switzerland).
At the same time, Centrenergo plans from October 1, 2016 to April 30, 2017 to import 960,000 tonnes of coal through seaports. In particular, it plans to import 640,000 tonnes of coal through Yuzhny seaport and 320,000 tonnes via the TIS terminal.
