Turkish ambassador to Ukraine expects end of FTA talks this or next year
Turkish Ambassador to Ukraine Yonet Can Tezel expects that the negotiations on a free trade area (FTA) between Ukraine and Turkey will be finished by the end of 2017.
"I think that representatives of the governments of the two countries should finish the negotiations to sign this agreement at least by the end of this year and maybe next year. We are ready to do this," Tezel said at Kyiv Economic Forum 2016 on Thursday.
Earlier Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey Mehmet Simsek said that Turkey is ready to sign a standard free trade agreement with Ukraine in the shortest terms.
Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Trade Representative of Ukraine Natalia Mykolska said that Ukraine is ready to sign an agreement on free trade area with Turkey, but with the observation of own conditions.
