PM expecting acceleration of economic growth after adoption of anti-corruption tax changes
The adoption of anti-corruption amendments to the Tax Code by parliament and their further implementation will help to accelerate economic growth, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has said.
"Our task is to make the Tax Code that would be normally accepted by business environment, that would help to provide for high-quality economic growth and that will be an anti-corruption one," the prime minister said, opening a government meeting on Wednesday.
Groysman said that the Finance Ministry worked on the draft amendments for four months: the changes envisage liquidation of tax gaps and the major part of shadow schemes with cash-out transactions.
He said that the amendments are long awaited. They would help to remove the economy out of the shadows.
"We should understand that we have over 50% of GDP in the shadows," he said.
"People want to have complete trust in the state… We will do everything to pass and implement the bill," the prime minister said.
Groysman said that he will initiate a meeting of the Reforms Council to discuss it and quickly submit to parliament.
