World Bank working on organization of $500 mln loan for Ukraine to buy gas
The World Bank is working on the organization of a $500 million loan for Ukraine to buy gas, World Bank Country Director for Belarus, Moldova, and Ukraine Satu Kahkonen said at a press conference on Thursday.
The agreement to provide guarantees to Ukraine to buy gas is at the stage of discussion, she said. The bank is working on its signing as soon as possible to guarantee passing of the heating season by Ukraine, she added.
As reported, Naftogaz Ukrainy intends to raise $500 million from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), part of the World Bank.
