Draft state budget for 2017 includes UAH 6.3 bln for funding state rearmament program
The government has proposed spending UAH 6.3 billion in 2017 on financing the state targeted program for the development of arms and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for 2016-2020.
These parameters are laid down in the financial law of the country for 2017 posted on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.
According to the draft document, financing for the state program from the general fund should amount to UAH 5.663 billion (89.9% of the total volume), from the special fund - UAH 665.7 million.
According to some data, the draft state program for the development of Ukrainian arms for 2016-2020 was handed over to the government for consideration in December 2015.
According to an Interfax-Ukraine source in the defense sector, initially the five-year state program for rearmament of the army was estimated at UAH 900 billion. The figure was later reduced to about UAH 90 billion.
