Social standards should be raised in 2017 - Poroshenko
An increase in the wages of teachers and doctors is the priority in 2017, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has stressed.
"There is a firm position that, despite the difficult situation, we must ensure preservation and improvement of social standards in 2017," Poroshenko said at a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
The president stressed the increase in wages in the educational sector and the health reform financing is the top priority for the next year.
"It is very important that the increase in wages of teachers, health care workers is the priority that is shared by the president and the government," the head of state said.
He expressed hope the parliamentary majority shares this position as well.
