Yamal-Europe gas pipeline halted for three days due to scheduled maintenance
The Yamal-Europe gas pipeline, which runs from Russia to Germany via Belarus and Poland, came to a complete halt on Tuesday morning for scheduled repairs, according to Gascade, one of the pipeline's operating companies.
The maintenance will last until the morning of August 26.
Work will be carried out at the Mallnow compressor station on the Polish-German border, and along the pipeline's linear section.
Pipeline pressure was reduced gradually, starting on Saturday, to almost zero by 9:00 a.m. Moscow time on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, contrary to expectations, gas supplies via Ukraine have not increased: any increase in supplies via the Uzhgorod corridor from Monday to Tuesday was within the norm, rising from 103 to 109 million cubic meters. However supplies have been increased via the OPAL pipeline.
