SPF head: privatization of regional power supply companies could resume from Oct
Ukraine's State Property Fund (SPF) seeks to hold six tenders to sell controlling stakes in regional electricity supply companies in October through December 2016, SPF Head Ihor Bilous has said.
"The auctions will start from October: October, November, December – in three groups consisting of two companies each," he said at a briefing in Kyiv on Friday.
Bilous said that the controlling stakes of Ternopiloblenergo and Khmelytskoblenergo will be sold in the first group, Kharkivoblenergo and Mykolaivoblenergo in the second group and Zaporizhiaoblenergo and Cherkasyoblenergo in the third group.
He said that the main delay with the privatization of regional electricity supply companies is linked to the adoption of the required regulatory base by parliament and the regulator that would increase the interest of investors to the companies.
