Head of Ukrzaliznytsia procurement control department detained
Investigators from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) jointly with prosecutors from the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office have detained the head of the Ukrzaliznytsia department of procurement planning and monitoring.
According to the NABU page on Facebook, the detainee is suspected of involvement in a corruption scheme of taking possession of public funds during public procurement at Ukrzaliznychpostach (at this time it is the subsidiary of PJSC Ukrzaliznytsia).
The offense is qualified by Part 5 of Article 191 (misappropriation, embezzlement of property or seizure by abuse of official position) and Part 3 of Article 209 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (legalization of proceeds from crime, money laundering).
