Fiscal service collects UAH 14 mln of property tax as of July 4

Ukraine's State Fiscal Service in the period from January 1 through July 4, 2016 collected UAH 14 million of property tax (not taking into account land parcels), the press service reported last week, referring to Director of the individuals' tax and duties department of the State Fiscal Service Pavlo Droniak.

"As of July 4, taxpayers had paid UAH 14 million of property tax. I recall that the tax is paid within 60 days from the moment of handing the tax notice," Droniak said.

He said that this year around 400,000 tax notices on property tax was sent to individual owners of property.

In 2016, tax of over UAH 200 million is to be paid. The largest sums are accrued in Kyiv (UAH 19 million), Khmelnytsky region (UAH 14 million) and Ivano-Frankivsk region (UAH 11 million).

Droniak said that this year property tax is paid for 2015 at the rates set for last year.

Tax is accrued for the total area of residential and nonresidential property at the rates set by local councils, but no more than 2% of minimum wage for residential property and 1% for nonresidential property.
