Ukraine's NPPs cut electricity generation by 9.5% in H1, 2016
Nuclear power plants (NPP) in Ukraine in January-June 2016 reduced production of electricity by 9.5% (by 4.241 billion kilowatt-hours) compared with the same period in 2015, to 40.201 billion kWh, the press service of Zaporizhia NPP has said.
According to its data, for the six months of this year production at Zaporizhia NPP amounted to 14.378 billion kWh (20.2% down), Yuzhnoukrainsk NPP to 7.865 billion kWh (10.5% down), Rivne NPP at 9.375 billion kWh (0.9% down), Khmelnytsky NPP at 8.583 billion kWh (4.9% up).
In June 2016 production of electricity decreased by 20.6% (by 1.417 billion kilowatt-hours) compared with the same month last year, to 5.449 billion kWh.
As reported, state enterprise Energoatom in 2015 reduced electricity production by 0.8% (by 732.8 million kWh) compared to 2014, to 87.840 billion kWh, sales by 0.8% (by 661.3 million kWh), to 82.562 billion kWh.
