Ukrenergo: Electricity consumption in recent days 11.6% up
Ukraine on June 22-23, in connection with the increase in air temperature, increased daily electricity consumption by 11.6% compared to the previous days, to 381.7 million kWh, the press service of Ukrenergo has said.
"The peak of consumption on June 22-23 was about 17.5 GW compared with 17.1 GW on June 21 and 16 GW on June 20. The average daily air temperature rose from 24.5 to 25.1 and 25.6 degrees Celsius respectively. Electricity consumption in these days rose by 11.6%, to 381.7 million kWh, production by 11.4%, to 405.1 million kWh," says the report.
Ukrenergo noted currently a number of power units at nuclear power plants are switched off for repairs, while anthracite coal reserves at TPPs decreased critically.
